Round one: Shields goes for the single-leg in the first 15 seconds, almost gets it but Lawler fights to stay upright and does so. They square off in the middle with Shields landing some kicks to soften him up and Lawler looking for openings. Suddenly, against the cage, Shields jumps to guillotine position and pulls Lawler down. Lawler stands back up in hopes of slamming him down. He does so, but Shields holds on and Lawler taps.
