Season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter is filming now in Las Vegas, and Kimbo Slice is in the house this season. That means that Kimbo could be fighting in the Octagon as soon as Friday, June 5, although we won't get to see his fights on Spike TV until the fall.But will we also see Kimbo fight on Spike TV in December, at The Ultimate Fighter Finale? To make it to the Finale, Kimbo would have to win three fights on the reality show, and the oddsmakers (yes, you can place bets on such things) say that's unlikely.

Kimbo couldn't even last 15 seconds with Seth Petruzelli, so I don't think he's going to beat three other heavyweight prospects. I'll be surprised if he makes it to the Finale.

MDS, get over this already. Just like in boxing a flash KO is a flash KO, especially with the tiney gloves MMA fighters wear. It's actually silly to keep harping on this when you know that one punch (lucky or otherwise) can end it all in secs.
The more worrisome issue for Kimbo and his fans regarding the likelyhood of his appearance in the finale is his training. Remember your post about Bas saying he'd never work with him agian cause he wasn't serious about training. If that hasn't changed he really stand no chance. If they guy searched is soul and has made some changes, he could do OK.

I know you have always had some kind of an axe to grind with Kimbo and you constantly need to put him down for some reason. But, most of us don't share your anger or hatred for the man. How about a little objectivity instead of the tiresome bashing.
If I didn't know better I would think you are rooting for the guy to lose.
This guy gets in the ring and fights and his fights are usually very exciting. Even Bas Rutten has said Kimbo has the potential to be great in the sport but nothing seems to enough vindication for you. I bet even if Kimbo did win the ultimate fighter you still wouldn't give him any credit.
I'm sure these same oddsmakers didn't have the Cardinals, Devil Rays and Magic to make it to the championship games in their respective sports did they? The odds may be against him to win the whole thing but I would say the odds have been against him his entire life and yet he is still here moving and shaking and making it happen with a bald head and big greasy beard saying F the world.
I won't get into the fact that Petruzelli was a last minute replacement he hadn't trained for or that he is a former UFC fighter.
Let's just let the cards fall where they may and give the guy a shot. He is out there trying to proive himself and I hope if you are proven wrong and he does win the finale that you and dana white will eat a big slice of humble pie and admit you were wrong.
Just give the fair chance you would want someone to give you if the situations were reversed.
Why is it pundits don't heckle Lesnar for getting an undeserved title shot but Kimbo is somehow a joke? They are both former college athletes and are equally as much about publicity as real skill.
I think it's hard to say that a guy who takes out the Champion is un deserving. Lesnar is a beast.
Kimbo has covered a lot of ground for a guy who hasn't shown much skill. Actually his chin's a little suspect too.
I'm with MDS, there's much more deserving fighters skill and devotion wise.
Kimbo is very good at marketing himself, and on that level he deserves what he gets. As a MMA fighter, he comes up a little short.
Lesnar beat a 40+ year old guy who hadn't fought in over a year that he outweighed by over 30 lbs. On top of that he lost to the guy that then won the interim belt but somehow leaped frogged him for the title shot. Lesnar may be athletic but with steroid allegations past and present as well as a questionable resume he is every bit as much of a fraud as Kimbo. At this point neither one of them have proved it in the ring as far as I'm concerned with nothing but hand picked opponents and a coddled career. Even Mir was handpicked because of his struggles at the time of their fight.
Kenny John, i don't see it that way. Mir was getting the hell beat out of him until lifelong family friend and ref mazzagati pulled Brock off him. Had there been a netural ref, Mir was most likely a goner. No one has shot on and taken Mir down like Brock did, you can't name another time. Mir was visibly shaken and you're talking about a guy who fought Tank as a young man. Mir is a top HW of the world, likely top 5. The guy's gifted and skilled. Brock almost had him Ko'D, too bad for brock Mir also had a ref that night.
As to Randy, he did beat the UFC reigning Champ, say what you want, he beat what the UFC said was their best. Certainly not Brock's fault.
Kimbo can't hang with the gifts much less the best. He is no where near the league of Lesnar. Lesnar would pound him out before the end of the first round, if he didn't knock him out first, (as a note - Lesnar knocked Mir down and Herring down with a single punch - one for each of course).
Lol, yes, ALL fights are handpicked unless it's for the title, you realize this, right? Joe Silva and the like try to find the most EXCITING match ups all the time. Nobody wants to see too many Anderson Silva versus Wilson's too much (why do you think his fights are boring now? His next fight with Forrest was HAND PICKED). Anyway . . . Brock is the champ until somebody beats him. That's how it is. Randy's handled big men before (i.e. Gonzaga, Sylvia and the like) but Brock is a different animal. The only way I see Frank Mir winning the fight is if he gets Brock to the ground and works his magic (without getting pummeled on the head in the process). Let's face it, Brock had their first fight won until the ref stood them up for one little punch to the back of the head. It was lame and completely ruined the fight. But it was a beautiful leg lock at the same time. It should be an interesting rematch . .
Yeah, he stood them up after an illegal shot to the back of the head. Thats what he is supposed to do. Not just let it go because Lesnar nut huggers are going to use that as an excuse. He almost won, I'll give him that. Whether or not Lesnar is the real thing he did not deserve a title shot so early in his career. That was simply a money making scheme. Brock is his superstar simply because he brought WWE fans to the UFC. Im sure once Brock loses the belt, Dana will make sure he gets another title shot ASAP even if he hasnt earned it. Dana White doesnt care about who deserves what or even having the best fighters. I could bring up Fedor but Im sure you have the Dana White mentality towards him. Lesnar is less of a joke than Kimbo. I will give him that too.
tyk, you nailed it. i don't think brock hands over any free legs this time. its a common midtake for a wrestle to give a neck or a leg, and brock should have been better prepaired.

i agree brock will be much more prepared this time but i also think mir underestimated him greatly the first time. a mistake he will not make again. his mental focus as a martial artist is second only to machida's. as for kimbo, it's really hard to see him winning against anything but a cupcake. he got knocked silly by a mediocre lhw. how's he going to fare against an accomplished striker or div1 wrestler or world class bjj guy? his best shot is to get a weak striker and hope he intimidates the hell out of him.
You are seriously blind to where Brock comes from, His experience, and the Marketing aims of the UFC for him. This guy is not a Champion.

Kimbo is entertaining to watch.I think the show will be good with him on it.The heavyweights definately need some new blood in the ufc.I am not saying it will be Kimbo winning.Just saying they need more and better heavys.
Man, the division that needs some help right now is the MiddleWeight class. It's just gotten boring. The only guys that I see having a chance against Silva are Maia (if he can get Anderson down) and maybe Yushin. No others really come to mind, but even then it's still not that exciting. Both of those fights would be almost copies of the Leites fight. I think if GSP wins his next fight he should move up to Middleweight an challenge the champ. Now THAT would be interesting . . .
Oh . . or maybe Rashad will move down to 185? Now that would also be interesting.

Kimbo is there for TUF marketing purposes - I can't see him winning 3 fights to make the finale.
As for Brock and Mir, well, the proof is in the pudding. The best current UFC HW is champ. As for throwing him a title shot against Couture so early, well I think there's 2 schools of thought here -either, you know the guy is that damn good and you give him the title shot; would be no different if Fedor signs for UFC OR you think because of his record you're hand picking an opponent for Couture that'll ensure a main event draw without standing on anybodys toes..... as far as I'm concerned, he destroyed Couture, he destroyed Mir and it just be, given the chance, he'll destroy the legend of Fedor.
