Patrick Cote is not scheduled to face Yushin Okami at UFC 103 in September. Recent online reports have indicated that the UFC middleweight bout has been offered to both fighters. However, Cote told FanHouse on Thursday that not only has that fight not been offered to him, he won't even be ready to return to action by then."I don't know where this rumor is coming from," Cote said. " My target fight is UFC 104 on October 24 in Los Angeles."
Cote said that "it's possible, but not smart" for him to return in September. He had knee surgery in early November after injuring himself in his UFC 90 title fight against Anderson Silva last October.
"I feel awesome," Cote said. "My knee is strong [and] I am back in the gym. It's good. In and in a month and a half I will be able to push more."
Cote confirmed that he recently signed a four-fight contract extension with the UFC.
No opponent has been offered to him just yet. He said that he hopes to face one of the top contenders in the middleweight division right away.

Patrick needs to lok at others who had major knee injries. Most dont do well right away. I hoe he faces someone of a litle less stature the Okami to start.
maybe a wilson gouveia or something.
i am not a cote fan, but he doesn't need to fight top lvl competition right away...not that there is any in that division. just watching silva toy with cote was as bad as him toying with leites. so he needs to have a small debut and work his way up again. he didn't deserve that title shot in the first place. so we will see what happens with him and the rest of the MW divsion.
