Dana White Offered Kimbo Slice 'The Ultimate Fighter' Role in October

Above is video I shot at a press conference in October, showing UFC President Dana White saying Kimbo Slice would be welcome to join the cast of The Ultimate Fighter -- but that he wouldn't win if he were on it. Now, eight months later, Kimbo has been added to the cast of The Ultimate Fighter. So why are so many people so shocked?

I think the shock comes more from Kimbo accepting the offer than from White making the offer. Kimbo reportedly made $500,000 for his last EliteXC fight, and contestants on The Ultimate Fighter are competing for the right to earn just $100,000. From that perspective, it would make no sense for Kimbo to accept a spot on The Ultimate Fighter, because he'd be accepting a massive pay cut.

White, however, told Cage Writer that if Kimbo wins Season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter, he will get a much better deal than the standard six-figure contract.

"He's got a contract if he wins the show," White said. "He's got a contract to fight in the UFC. And it's a good one. That's his carrot. If he can do this, he can make some real money."

White also said that he looks forward to seeing if Kimbo can prove him wrong. And for those who have a short memory, below are some of the things that White says he looks forward to being proved wrong about.

"Kimbo Slice sucks, like I've said now for the last few months. This f**king guy can't fight":

"Kimbo Slice would get murdered in the UFC":

"Ken (Shamrock) is way past his prime. It gets to the point where it's dangerous for him to still be fighting. That being said, he still might beat Kimbo. Kimbo sucks":
