Xavier Foupa-Pokam vs. Drew McFedries
Professor X is in the Octagon. McFedries is in the Octagon.
Round 1: This fight is underway. McFedries comes out swinging and X is in huge trouble. It is over! Drew McFedries beats Xavier Foupa-Pokam by first-round KO. The whole fight lasted 37 seconds, and if anything Yves Lavigne was too slow stopping it.

Dan Miller vs. Chael Sonnen
Miller is in the Octagon. Sonnen is in the Octagon. Ref Yves Lavigne is getting booed because of a stoppage during the undercard.
Round 1: Miller comes out swinging and backs Sonnen up. Miller lands a leg kick and Sonnen goes for a takedown. Miller slaps on a guillotine when Sonnen goes for the takedown and Sonnen is struggling. They're pressed against the cage and Sonnen gets out of the guillotine. Mike Tyson and Rampage Jackson are about five feet away from them in the front row. Sonnen is now landing some punches and Miller looks worn out from holding that guillotine. Sonnen is really pouring on the punches now on top of Miller. Miller wanted a knee bar but Sonnen pulled away and got side control. Miller is in big trouble, Sonnen is really smashing him in side control. Miller did a nice job of getting back into half guard. Now Miller has Sonnen in full guard, but Sonnen continues raining punches down on him. Sonnen almost got submitted at the very start of the round but has really dominated the round since then. Round 1 to Sonnen, 10-9.

Round 2
: Sonnen goes for another takedown and Miller goes for another guillotine, but this time Sonnen quickly pulls free. Now Sonnen slams Miller and Miller sinks in another guillotine in. And Sonnen frees himself again and is now on top and punching Miller. I'm very surprised that Miller isn't doing a better job controlling Sonnen in guard, but Sonnen is really doing a number on Miller on the ground. Miller goes for an arm bar but Sonnen pulls free. Nice elbow on the ground by Sonnen. Another very solid round for Sonnen, 10-9.

Round 3: Nice start of the round by Miller, with a combination of punches. But now Sonnen picks him up and takes him down. Now once again Sonnen is on top and Miller isn't able to do much of anything. Sonnen is landing punches and elbows from the top and overall just dominating this fight. The fans are booing because the whole fight has been on the ground, but Sonnen is fighting the perfect fight to win a decision. One minute left and Miller is just totally exhausted. This fight is over and I give the third to Sonnen, 10-9. Chael Sonnen beats Dan Miller by unanimous decision. 30-27 on all three judges' cards. Scroll up for the next fight.

Frank Edgar vs. Sean Sherk
Round 1: The two wrestlers spend the early part of the round on striking. Edgar looks quick. Midway through the round, Edgar goes for a single leg takedown, but Sherk is able to stay upright and fend him off. Edgar seems to be featuring a lot more side-to-side movement. Edgar caught a Sherk low kick, and took him down. He held a front facelock for a few seconds, but Sherk got back to vertical. Close, crisp round to open.

Round 2: Second round is underway, and thanks to Mike Chiappetta for live blogging the first. Sherk is on the attack more than Edgar, but I like the way Edgar is countering. Edgar lands a solid kick. Good knee to the body from Edgar as well, knocking Sherk to the ground briefly. Midway through the round, I really like the way Edgar is using his legs. Edgar has a really good game plan for this fight, and Sherk seems a little frustrated by Edgar's style. Very good combination of punches from Edgar. Low blow. Brief stoppage for a low blow but now they're right back to it and Edgar is still on the attack. Round ends with a head kick from Edgar and then an exchange of punches. I give round two to Edgar, 10-9.

Round 3: Sherk needs to use his strength and stop kickboxing, because that's not working for him. Edgar is getting in and out too quickly for Sherk. Big takedown from Sherk! Wow. That was like a football tackle, and now he's on top of Edgar. But a great job by Edgar getting back up, and now they're back on the feet. Sherk is looking really frustrated on his feet. I don't know why Sherk isn't going for another takedown, but it might cost him this fight. Sherk went for a takedown and missed, and Edgar landed a kick to the body. Sherk is in big trouble here, he's going to need to do something amazing in the final 90 seconds. Nice right hand by Edgar. With 30 seconds to go, Edgar looks totally fresh and Sherk looks worn out. Who saw that coming? The round ends with Edgar going for a guillotine and Sherk saved by the bell! Edgar, 10-9. I'll be shocked if the judges don't give this fight to Edgar. Edgar beats Sherk by unanimous decision; 30-27 on all judges' cards.
Next up is Miller vs. Sonnen; scroll up for that.
