Jens Pulver revealed the fight to fans at WEC 40 on Sunday in Chicago. Additionally, Michael David Smith of MMA FanHouse received confirmation of the fight from WEC officials.
After coaching season five of "The Ultimate Fighter" and losing in the coach showdown to BJ Penn, Pulver decided to move down to featherweight and join the WEC. The outlook of Pulver's new direction appeared bright when needed only 35 seconds in his WEC debut to dispatch of Cub Swanson, but taking on top dogs Urijah Faber (twice) and Leonard Garcia, Pulver lost his next three and was forced to face questions on whether or not he should retire.
Grispi, while not as known as Faber or Garcia, is another dangerous opponent for Pulver. The 21-year-old is riding eight straight wins including two first-round wins in the WEC against Micah Miller and Mark Hominick.
WEC 41 will be headlined by Faber (22-2) looking to reclaim the featherweight belt against Mike Brown (21-4). The event, from the Arco Arena, will air on Versus.
