Martin Kampmann defeated Carlos Condit Wednesday night at UFC Fight Night 18, and that means it's time to revise our rankings of the Top 10 welterweights in mixed martial arts.
It's not a big adjustment: Georges St Pierre, of course, remains in the top spot, and the rankings will look almost identical to the last time I did them. But I had Condit at No. 8 and Kampmann outside the Top 10 before, so I figure I need to add Kampmann in and take Condit out. The new rankings are below.
1. Georges St. Pierre
2. Jon Fitch
3. Thiago Alves
4. Jake Shields
5. Mike Swick
6. Matt Serra
7. Matt Hughes
8. Dustin Hazelett
9. Josh Koscheck
10. Martin Kampmann

Sera and Hughes shouldn't be in the top 10. They both got they're asses handed too they by Pierre.
Matt Hughes should not top 10, he lost 3 of 4 games
I had hughes already out and now have taken out Serra also
Georges St. Pierre-UFC-18-2
Thiago Alves-UFC-16-3
Jon Fitch-UFC-18-3
Jake Shields-Strikeforce-21-4
Josh Koscheck-UFC-12-4
Mike Swick-UFC-13-2
Martin Kampmann-UFC-15-2
Dustin Hazelett-UFC-12-4
Marcus Davis-UFC-15-4
Carlos Condit-UFC-23-5
I wouldn't kick Carlos Condit out. Last night was his first loss in eight fights. Matt Serra has been inactive since his loss to GSP last year. Matt Hughes has been out due to injury and hasn't been very impressive in his last couple of fights.
how is mike swick in the top 10 of welterweights?
hes fought welterweight 3 times and already he breaks top ten give me a break
carlos should definetly be in...kampmann should not.. even tho carlos lost he clearly is still the better fight..and i think carlos won that fight anyways kept it to close for the judges to make a mistake
To believe that Condit won that fight is a mistake. I had them each winning a round going into the third, which Kampmann clearly won. He was on top of Condit pounding him for much of the final round, while Carlos kept looking for submissions that never came to fruition. Until the very last minute, when he had a chance to finish it, but he ran out of time. Kampmann was a bad fit for Condit as he was game competition for a Condit not at the top of his game after an eight month layoff. Give Kampmann his props for pulling off a tough victory. Kampmann does show a flaw in his game, though with his poor defense of head kicks/knees, something both Condit and Marquardt exposed in their matches with him.
How is Hazelett ranked ahead of Koscheck? Didn't Josh knock him out?
