Vinny Magalhaes subs for Mike Ciesnolevicz at UFC 97

"The Ultimate Fighter 8" light-heavyweight runner-up Vinny Magalhaes will enter the UFC 97 "Redemption" card, replacing the injured Mike Ciesnolevicz against Eliot Marshall.

Magalhaes and Marshall were not only teammates under Frank Mir on "TUF 8" but both also had their quests to become "The Ultimate Fighter" erased by Ryan "Darth" Bader. Magalhaes lost in the finals to Bader via first-round TKO, while Marshall fell in the semifinals via unanimous decision.

Magalhaes (2-3) is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt with a ton of experience in grappling competitions.

Marshall (6-2) is a former Ring of Fire 205-pound champion and also a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt.
