UFC 96 week comes to an end with the final installment of UFC President Dana White's video blog, and he has harsh words for referee Rick Fike, who brought an early end to the undercard bout between Shane Nelson and Aaron Riley.
"These two f**king kids trained their asses off for this fight for the last eight weeks," White said. "They've been training for eight weeks, for that kid to get robbed like that. And it affects his money because there's money you get to show and money you get to win. He just got another loss on his record when he didn't f**king lose. And he lost half of his purse. Let's say he gets paid $10,000 to show and $10,000 to win. He only made his show money, he didn't make his win money, when he didn't lose the fight. That's horrible. ... It shouldn't happen. That f**king guy who reffed that fight shouldn't be in that Octagon. He has no business being in there."
Between Fike and Yves Lavigne, who botched the Pete Sell-Matt Brown fight, causing White to jump up and scream at him, it was a bad night for referees. I agree with Kid Nate: It's time for the UFC to bring back Big John McCarthy.
