Patrick Cote talks about his opponent at UFC 90, the middleweight champion Anderson Silva:
"He will want to test my chin for sure," Cote said. "That's exactly what he'll want to do. I will take everything that he will give me, but I will give him back for sure."
Cote also said, however, that he's not worried about Silva testing his chin: "I've never been knocked out in my life," he said. "So maybe that's why I'm not scared to sit there and trade with anyone in my weight class."
Interestingly, when I interviewed Cote in August, he told me that he would be scared when he fought Silva. That interview is after the jump.
Patrick Cote on Anderson Silva:
"Nobody is not scared to fight," Cote said. "You can't tell me that. But it's not a bad scared. When I'm in the Octagon I know I'm ready to go and I can't wait to hear the bell and go for the kill."

Cote does have a good chin ... I've never seen him rocked by a punch and we know that he has never been KOed. Cote has been better as of late, but he does have losses to some average fighters in his career (Doerkson, Lutter, Leben).
We will see how good his striking is compared to the best striker in the world. The Spider is bound to have an off day at some point.
Im skeptical unless I see it that cote can really take strikes from silva. I don't think cote or so far any other ufc opponent silva has faced has any idea how to beat him, other than luck, it's not like they posses equal skills, cote is obviously a skilled fighter to even get to the point of facing silva but I just don't see logically how he can pull off a win, in this sport anything can happen but it seems highly unlikely.
In my opinion Leben's chin is has good has cote and we saw what silva did to Leben. + Leben beat Cote(I think cote is a better fighter now but still)
I will be pulling for Cote but I would not bet a penny on him lol
Vas y Pat le quebec est avec toi. Donne tous ce que tu as
Like you said, Leben did beat Cote by decision, but there is a pretty big difference in skill between the two.
As for comparing their chins, we have seen Leben hurt in other fights (Terry Martin) he just doesn't go down. Ultimately, this fight will answer all of those questions.
I'm not pulling for Cote to win necessarily, but I would like to see him make a war out of it!
