Give Kimbo Slice credit for one thing: In the moments after his legend crashed and burned, he was a good sport about it.Interviewed in the cage just minutes after he was knocked out by Seth Petruzelli in 14 seconds, Kimbo attempted to make the best of a bad situation, congratulating Petruzelli, thanking him for taking the fight and saying to the crowd, "It's all good."
But the reality is that it's not all good at all, not for Kimbo and not for EliteXC. We were told that Kimbo was the baddest man on the streets, but in reality he was nothing but a paper tiger. Petruzelli is a mediocre light heavyweight, and he made Kimbo look like a wimp.
CBS announcer Gus Johnson said of Kimbo afterward, "We don't know what's next for him." But the truth is, we do know what's next for him: He'll slip into obscurity and his 15 minutes of fame will be forgotten.

Franco, it's obvious when a fighter is stunned ... Kimbo was stunned. I agree that the ground and pound was weak, but it didn't matter becuase the first shot (that he didn't see) did the job.
I hope this was a 1 fight deal for Arlovski, because he and Affliction need to distance himself from this joke of an organization.
Lets hope we don't have to deal with any hype dealing with Kimbo.

I wish people weren't such armchair QB's and calling the guy a "fraud" is completely out of line. It sounds like you were waiting for an "I told you so" moment. Show some class.
He was never the best fighter ever like Elite XC hyped him to be but he is also far from a "fraud". Only time will tell but I would hope if he does redeem himself you will be the first to eat some humble pie.

Hell, Silva moved up in weight and fought and won against a bigger opponent, so why is it so shocking that Pretruzelli beat Kimbo, and why is everybody so mad that Kimbo lost, calling him a fraud?? Because, THEY LOST MONEY OR CREDIBILITY on him! Man is not invincible! And if that weren't the case, then flat out they just some straight up HATA'S (haters)!!! Kimbo's not really to be blamed, he was just taking the 15 minutes of fame that EliteXC offered him.
But, having Kimbo vs. Ken as your main event - then having to substitute a light heavyweight fighter at the last minute - and then having your superstar get KOed in 14 seconds ... priceless!

Regardless of this fight, one thing that has been obvious to those in the know, which might finally becoming obvious to the layman, is that Kimbo Slice is NOT a competitive MMA fighter, and would get destroyed by the top 100 real fighters at 205+ within a round.
Granted his skills in MMA are horrible, I still believe this fight was rigged. I've been watching Kimbo now for the past two years and yes his competition was low-skilled and straight brawlers. However, looking at this footage again and again I can't see how those punches or liver kicks could take someone with his caliber in so little time. I'm sure that it's just shock and awe for me right now. Well, KimBLOW time to rustle up some scrubs in Florida and ride dirty.
First off anybody willing to fight in front of a huge crowd has enough pressure on em and believe it that they know when they lose yall dont have to tell em that. History repeats itself, in Lewiston, ME many years ago Cassius Clay "knocked out" one ex-street fighting mugger and part-time mob enforcer Sonny Liston with a phantom punch in a re-match of a heavyweight win Clay had in Miami.
I am not saying Petruzzi is the next Ali, but it is odd how Liston fell to the canvas that night from a punch nobody in the audience ever saw.
If Elite or whatever the sponsoring organization does not trot out Fedor very quickly, then UFC will remain dominant to a niche audience and MMA growth will be stunted by laughable carnival shows like CBS produced last night.
Elite is better than UFC its free, like TV used to be .kimbo was a farce but Elite has very good fighters,Dana White hates it because they are getting ratings and that takes money from him, they are providing us with free events and it couldnt be that bad ,because the people commenting must have watched it and it was free,

If Elite had better MMA fighters, that would help the UFC in promoting pay per view events. I don't pay for the ppv's, I simply wait until they are on Spike TV.
It is simply a given that an inferior product Elite will bring down interest in the UFC.
